Nan was awarded a *Silver Medal for Excellence Award * in the The Park City Film Music Festival is the first American film festival dedicated entirely to film music.

Seattle's 48 Hour Film Project Competition awarded Ms. Avant the " Best Musical Score" Award for the film short " The Past, the Future and the Paparazzi Permit" dr. Przemek Pardyak, Xeo Xee Pictures. The film also received "Best Costume", "Future Watch Award", and an "Audience Award".

**World Music by Nan Avant premiered at Burien's Interim Art Space - Pieces of Eight The "Pieces of Eight" event Aug. 15th and 16th. A performance of compositions written for 8 channels over 8 speaker stacks placed throughout the B/ IAS site. A two day cutting edge musical happening stretched over the one acre B/ IAS site.
